Families

Families are the key to Cub Scouting. Parents work together with their Scout to help them follow the program and earn achievements. The Cub Scout Pack is a parent-run organization. Parents attend Pack meetings and trips, and participate in running Den and Pack activities. We are always looking for parent volunteers!

What You Can Do To Help Your Child

  • Read the Scout handbook with them and help them complete the sections together

  • Attend pack meetings with them

  • Volunteer to help run an activity within the den

  • Help out at a pack meeting or sleepover or other event

  • Be Akela!

Keeping The Pack Running

The Pack is self-run by the parents whose children participate. Families are assigned to run the following events each year as per your youngest scout's level:

Lions: Please volunteer for any available event or become a Den Leader

Tiger: Scouting for Food (October) & Pack Graduation (June)

Wolf: Service Project (November) & Ice Cream Social (May)

Bear: Blue & Gold Dinner (February) & Scout Carnival (April)

Webelos: Hike & Service Project (October)

Arrow of Light: Campout (Sept-Oct), Arrow of Light Ceremony (February)

Join the Pack Committee and help make decisions about what we do.

Costs

Pack dues and activity fees cover the majority of activities our Scouts get to enjoy, such as, special events at Pack meetings, hikes, campouts, sleepovers, summer events, etc. This money also pays for pins and awards, scout patches, neckerchiefs, slides, badges, registration fees for leaders, books, and more.

Family assistance is available from both the Council and the Pack, see Family Assistance Request Form. For more information contact our Treasurer.

Each den may decide to charge its own den dues to cover materials or outings.
